Liz Smith, Sr. Recruiter
Liz Smith has been recruiting for Calgary law firms since 1983. Prior to this time, Liz worked as a Human Resource Manager for a major Calgary law firm.
She has extensive experience in the legal community, both as a legal assistant and at the management/administrative level. Her background includes experience in a major Canadian trade union as a research assistant and union negotiator.
Liz has also been a member of the Advisory Boards at Red Deer College, Mount Royal College, the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and Bow Valley College, specifically providing advice and guidance to the students in the Legal Assistant programs.
In March of 1998 Liz opened her own placement agency, Liz Smith + Associates specializing in the recruitment of legal support staff.
Liz continually works closely with a number of Calgary colleges in a consulting role providing advice and direction with their legal assistant programs.
Sue Sisson, Recruiter
Sue has over 14 years of law office recruiting experience working with Liz Smith.
Sue’s diverse background has included 8 years as a Nurse in her native New Zealand before making a career change in 1984.
She then successfully developed her career in administrative/secretarial positions in both Canada and New Zealand before joining Liz Smith + Associates. Her background has proven to be very beneficial in her role of fostering talent and recruiting legal support staff.
Carlyn Miller RPR, Office Manager/ Recruiter
Carlyn began working with Liz Smith + Associates in April, 2000. She currently fills the role of both Office Manager and Recruiter, she recently completed her Human Resources training at the University of Calgary.
Carlyn is also a member of the Calgary Opera and encourages everyone to support the Calgary arts community!
